无机化学家 1963年2月10日生于香港,籍贯广东鹤山。1985年毕业于香港大学化学系,1988年获该校博士学位。香港大学化学系讲座教授、系主任。2001年当选中国科学院院士。系统地设计和合成了新的无机发光分子材料和化学传感器配合物利用各种桥连配体,设计及合成了多种多核金属簇体系的发光材料利用炔基在结构上呈刚性及线性排列的优点,设计了新型有机金属铼、铂、铜和银的发光刚性棒材料并以弱金-金成键相互作用作为开关的新概念,设计出可用作分子磷光信号传感器及光电开关的双核金冠硫配合物。
